Cape Town and Western Cape Garden Route Tour - 13 Days
Day 1
Arrival at Cape Town International, where you’ll be greeted by your tour guide. Transport to your place of stay.
Day 2
After breakfast, tour of the Table Mountain , www.tablemountain.net . Visit to the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, www.waterfront.co.za . Tour of the Clock Tower and Two Oceans Aquarium, www.aquarium.co.za . Dinner.
Day 3
After breakfast, depart to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, on the way visit the famous Scratch Patch where precious and semiprecious stoned are mined and polished in Simons Town. You will also stop at the Boulders Beach where you’ll meet a Cape Penguin Colony. A trip on a Cable Train to the summit of Cape Point where the two oceans, Atlantic and Indian, meet, www.cpnp.co.za . To round off the day’s tour, we’ll return via Chapman’s Peak, www.chapsmanpeakdrive.co.za , where you’ll see some of the best views Western Cape has to offer. Dinner.
Day 4
After breakfast, depart to the Republic of Hout Bay, a fishing village, www.marinerswharf.co.za , after which a boat trip to the seal island of Duiker Island . We’ll visit the biggest bird sanctuary in Western Cape , the World of Birds and the famous Kirstenbosh botanical gardens, www.nbi.ac.za . Dinner.
Day 5
Breakfast. A trip to the KWV corporation, www.kwv.co.za , producers of world class brandies and wines. Tour of the factory, followed by wine tasting. Visit to the Bernheim wine estate, www.bernheimwines.com . Tour of the ostrich farm, www.ostrichranch.co.za . Dinner in the ostrich farm restaurant.
Day 6
After breakfast, we leave for the most southern point of Africa , Cape Agulhas , www.viewoverberg.com . The road will take us through Hermanus, famous for whale watching. Dinner and accommodation at Agulhas Heights Guest Lodge.
Day 7
Breakfast. We’ll depart to Albertinia and the Garden Route Game Reserve where you’ll be able to see the Big Five: lions, elephants, rhinos, leopards and wildebeests. In the afternoon a photo safari. Dinner.
Day 8
An early start with a photo safari followed by breakfast after which we’ll depart for Mossel Bay . A visit to the Bartolomeo Dias museum. Dinner and sleep over in Mossel Bay , www.gardenrouteadventures.com .
Day 9
After breakfast, relax on the Mossel Bay beach or take advantage of various day trips of your choice including deep sea diving or a trip on a sail boat around the bay, www.gardenrouteadventures.com/program/daytrips.php . Dinner.
Day 10
After breakfasft we head towards George and Knysna. In George we board the Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe Train and travel to Knysna through the most beautiful coastal Garden Route . We’ll travel through the Outenikwa Pass taking us to Oudtshoorn, where we’ll visit the Cango Caves . In the afternoon we’ll depart to the Wilgewangel farm, www.wilgewandel.co.za , where we’ll dine and rest for the night.
Day 11
Breakfast. A short trip to the Kango Wine Estate, where you’ll have a chance to taste unique wines and brandies. We’ll travel to Montague where you can take part in a Quad Bike Trip on beautiful Tradouw Pass terrains. www.gardenrouteaccom.co.za/tradouwquads . Dinner and accommodation in the Mimosa Lodge in Montague, www.mimosa.co.za .
Day 12
After breakfast, we depart for Cape Town , driving through a farming town of Robertson , visiting the well known Robertnon Winery, www.robertsonwinery.co.za .
We’ll arrive at your accommodation in Cape Town . A restful afternoon on Cape Town ’s Blouberg Beach . Dinner.
Day 13
After breakfast, last minute shopping and transfer to the Cape Town International Airport . Departure from South Africa .
